When the temperatures start to dip, we often turn to comfort foods to stay warm. Some may think of seafood strictly as a summertime dish since many options are fresh and perfect on the grill, like salmon and shrimp. However, seafood is just as enjoyable when the weather turns cold. Here are the best ways to eat seafood in the winter to help you stay toasty and full.

Clam Chowder

Soup is a wonderful option when you want warmth and comfort in a bowl, and seafood works well in this form. One dish you may want to try this winter is clam chowder—you can amp up the comfort factor when you eat this out of a warm bread bowl.

Clam chowder also works well with the bread on the side. Try pairing the soup with a tasty piece of sourdough bread fresh from the oven. Feel free to dip the bread in the chowder to fully appreciate all those wonderful, creamy flavors.

Salmon Wellington

If you’re looking for an elegant way to enjoy seafood, try preparing salmon Wellington. This method involves cooking your salmon fillet in melted butter and combining it with spinach. These two delicious elements are brought together in a puff pastry, which then gets baked in the oven.
