Growing up, home cook turned health and wellness entrepreneur Latasha Lewis didn’t think food would be a part of her purpose as an adult. The Florida native who grew up the oldest of eleven children cooking for her siblings thought that was just what she was supposed to do.
“I never knew that cooking was a passion for me because I grew up doing it all my life and I loved it. I just thought every woman was to supposed to know how to cook,” says Lewis whose culinary mentors include her mother and grandmother.
Lewis’ passion turned to purpose after talking to a friend who recognized her skills in the kitchen. Soon Lewis began cooking and making videos and people started responding. They were especially interested in how she could prepare all of this tasty food but still look healthy and fit.
“I like to eat. I eat what I want to eat and I cook almost every single day,” confesses the self-proclaimed foodie. However, before sharing her cooking skills, Lewis began her own fitness journey that combined working out as well as supplements to help maintain her health and weight.
Lewis says, “I wanted to do something to make me feel better, something to help me be around to raise my three kids.” Putting the two together through her company LCL Fitness, Lewis is motivating others to look and feel their best while not depriving themselves of the foods they love to eat. “I believe everything is done in moderation. You have to have that balance.”

The Next Latasha Lewis Fit Chapter
Last year Lewis published her book, “Brunch-N-Fit,” that is filled with recipes plus fitness tips to help balance one’s love for food. Named after her favorite meal of the day, the book is a way to share her most requested meals from friends and family such as her fried chicken, breakfast burritos and stuffed bell peppers.
“My fried chicken recipe is one of my favorites when it comes down to frying period. That recipe just came from me mixing and matching stuff in the kitchen. So, when it comes down to that, I outdo my mom on that chicken,” brags Lewis who also enjoys exploring different cultural cuisines.
She puts her own savory twist on her grandmother’s salmon croquette recipe by adding more seasonings and flour for binding so that they don’t easily break apart. “I am big on tasting foods. I can taste different flavors, seasonings, different herbs. I am really a foodie, foodie.”
In addition to the tips and recipes in her book, Lewis also sells a branded line of supplements that include a cleanse, slimming gel and tea. Used as part of her fitness routine, Lewis says the products aid in helping to digest the foods you eat.
The products are all-natural using ingredients such as magnesium and potassium that the body uses to process and discard food naturally. One of her biggest sellers includes her ab sweatband that is used by both men and women.

Breaking Down Barriers
It has been five years now since Lewis set out to change her life and others. The new author admits that expanding her brand has its challenges, but she is determined to keep doing what she loves while providing a platform for fellow entrepreneurs to do the same. She recently launched the LCL Show that is live every Monday on Facebook and features live interviews, cooking demonstrations and more.
She is also planning community events that will encourage adults and their children to come out for a day of fitness with the goal of “beating excuses.”
“You really need to transform and renew your mind and stick with it,” says Lewis for those who feel they are too busy to add a workout into their daily routines. “You have to get up and hold yourself accountable. Nothing comes to a sleeper but a dream.”
Check out the LCL Show on Facebook Monday nights at 8 pm EST and for encouragement and tips, follow Latasha Lewis on Instagram. For more information and to purchase Brunch-N-Fit and other products, visit her website.
