Prosperity Market returns to the California African American Museum (CAAM) for a one-day event to conclude Black History Month and commemorate the last two years of its popular pop-up markets showcasing Black farmers and entrepreneurs across Los Angeles.

Taking place on Saturday, February 25 from 11 am -3:30 pm,  co-founders Kara Still and Carmen Dianne assembled over 30 Black-owned local businesses for an outdoor celebration at CAAM, where folks from all walks of life can shop, eat, relax, and discover something new.

Vendors include Farmer Ken (an organic farmer bringing food equity to under-resourced groups through independent farming), California Coffee Company (ethically sourced, California-roasted coffee), Gloria’s Shito (Ghanaian pepper sauce), IGH Gardens (a veteran-run farm growing produce for the unhoused), and Chef Brandi Biggles (Certified Nutrition and Integrative Health Coach who will demo and sell her delicious vegan pizzas).

“While we host several in-person events throughout the year, our February market is very special not only because it’s Black History Month, but it also marks the anniversary of Prosperity Market,” says Still. “We hope the impact will get people excited about our work, hooked on our market and the vendors, and keep coming back!”

Cooking demonstrations, a pop-up coffee shop experience, photo booth, kid’s corner, and a DJ will complete the vibe. Attendees will also have an opportunity to receive prizes and “Prosperity Bucks”–free money to spend with any of the vendors at the market. CAAM is also hosting wellness activities on-site including a healing sound bath and group meditation by Sol & Sound (10-11 am) and yoga by Constance Hartwell (11 am-12 pm).

“Our intention with Prosperity Market is to support Black farmers and entrepreneurs by helping them scale and grow, by making it easy for people across Los Angeles to discover and shop these businesses, and increasing food access in our communities,” shares Dianne. “It has been amazing to see our vendors grow over the last two years, and to watch people discover their businesses through our in-person markets!”

The California African American Museum (CAAM) is located in Exposition Park at 600 State Dr, Los Angeles, CA.  For more information, on this special one-day event, visit the website and follow Prosperity Market on Instagram.
