Shannon Sharpe launches Shay by Le Portier VSOP in the Colorado market. This launch marks the NFL Hall of Famer’s return to state where he played 12 seasons as tight end for the Denver Broncos.
During a recent launch visit, Sharpe said, “I am very excited to be back in Colorado where I spent 12 years with the Broncos. Denver is like a 2nd home to me. The fans and community support have been overwhelming for our award-winning Cognac. This is a very special moment in my life, not only a passion project but an opportunity for me to honor my grandmother Mary Porter with Shay by Le Portier.”
Introducing Shay by Le Portier to Colorado
Le Portier will work exclusively with Eagle Rock Distributing Company to supply Colorado with Shay. Elegant 750ml decanters of the popular cognac release will be available to purchase for $99.99 at select stores across the state. The inaugural release will include 25,000 bottles.

Bringing the same success and dedication to his cognac that he did to football, Sharpe’s Shay by Le Portier continues to be a standout in its field. The VSOP recently secured gold at the European Spirits Challenge 2024—Europe’s most important spirit judging competition.
Shay by Le Portier also brought home Silver in Taste and Silver in Value from the Bartenders’ Brand Awards 2024, showcasing its strength in flavor and value for the consumer. These awards add to the cognacs’ all-star reputation, winning Platinum—Best in Class at the SIP Awards in 2022 and placing above all other established cognac brands in the category.

Sharpe played the majority of his career as a Denver Bronco, establishing himself as one of the greatest to ever play his position. To this day, he ranks third in tight end receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns.
The former tight end names his grandmother Mary Porter as the inspiration behind the brand. “Le Portier honors the bond between family, the drive for success, and the woman who made it all possible,” he writes on the website.
