Just in time for the upcoming season, Atlanta-based Greenwood Whiskey is honoring the culture of homecomings at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) with a limited edition celebratory bottle of their award-winning flagship whiskey.

“We understand the cultural significance of homecoming for HBCU grads so it made perfect sense for us to create the first-of-its-kind HBCU celebratory whiskey label, says Kweillin “KG” Gordon, co-founder and CEO of Greenwood Whiskey.

Available starting this month, the limited bottle release features artwork by Atlanta-based artist Sway Jones and is decorated with bold colors and shapes to stand out from any other spirit at the tailgate.  At the center of the artwork are a handful of Black figures who represent HBCU students and band members. As HBCU grads, the Greenwood Whiskey co-founders wanted to create a special release that would commemorate and compliment one of the most memorable times of the year.

The new label release will kick off the Greenwood Whiskey HBCU tour at various universities and colleges where attendees will have an opportunity taste samples from the brand. HBCUs currently on the tour lineup include Hampton University, Clark Atlanta University, Virginia State, Albany State, Southern University, Central State, Morehouse College, and Spelman College.

Gordon adds, “This label represents community and an unforgettable shared experience. We look forward to this label being the new staple at HBCU homecomings across the country.”

Retailing at $39.99, a portion of the Greenwood Whiskey HBCU Homecoming edition will also be donated to the aforementioned universities’ alumni associations.
