Soursop hot honey dipping sauce by Asia Bullock
Prep Time 10 minutes mins
Cook Time 35 minutes mins

Ingredients

  • ½ cup fresh soursop pulp, seeds removed
  • 3 tablespoons hot honey, store-bought or homemade
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 – 2 teaspoons lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • pinch of salt
  • dash of cayenne or chili flakes, optional

Directions

  1. In a bowl, mash or blend the soursop pulp until smooth.
  2. Whisk in mayo, hot honey and Dijon until creamy.
  3. Add lime juice and vinegar. This is where the flavor wakes up.
  4. Stir in spices and salt. Taste it. Adjust heat or sweetness as needed.
  5. Chill for 15–20 minutes. Don’t skip this step as chilling helps deepen the flavor.

About This Recipe

This hot honey dipping sauce begins sweet and floral (thanks to the soursop). Then, the slow honey heat creeps in and finishes with a tangy, creamy, slightly smoky flavor. Serve it with fried shrimp or catfish, chicken tenders or wings. It also tastes great on sweet potato fries and grilled vegetables.
